This week we have a sketch from Paula. Here’s the sketch
and here is what I came up with. I was determined to use my new rolls of gold Watercolour Wonder washi tape for this card …it actually reminds me of the test pattern on TV as I grew up ..no 24 hr TV in those days (showing my age here lol). Anyone else remember that?
Here’s the details of this card; Stamps I used were Woodgrain, Teeny Tiny sentiments (which you cant see because of the light but I have stamped on the little soft suede pennant with the gold encore ink) and the Just for you is part of the Hip Hip Hooray card kit. Ive punched 4 petite petal punches of Venetian Romance DSP (leftover scrap from my bottom panel) and one of the gold vellum. I then added a silver brad and wet and scrunched them all up. That lace tape is still a favourite of mine..I don’t know how many rolls of it Ive used over this Annual Catalogue year, but its probably in the vicinity of 40 rolls!
I saw someone (let me know if that was you) while blog surfing recently who did the wrapped twine thing..which I thought was lovely so that got a go on this card too. My twine is the silver one as I keep on ordering the silver one but really, really want the gold one! I think the silver still works and tied in with the silver brad anyway.
I kept the inside pretty plain but still had some washi and twine going on there to tie it all in.
So I do hope you can play along with us at Just Add Ink..check out what the other members of the Design Team have come up with here.
Have a lovely Easter Weekend and be safe on the roads if you are travelling.
I’m loving so much about your card Delys, it seems so ‘different’ from how I would usually tackle the sketch, so you’ve given me something to think about. I too remember the test pattern, and the kiwi switching off the light when it was time for shut down at the TV Station. I lived in Hamilton unti 1972, Melbourne since then. Might even see you at Convention?

Delys this is a lovely card and like you I should do a bit with my washi tape. As yet I have not used any at all. Love your use of it. Well done.

Love how you used the washi tape Delys – it makes a great subtle gold focal. The stripey pattern really picks up the woodgrain too. xxx
