Scrapbooking Global May Blog Hop

This month it is my theme and Ive chosen DIY Backgrounds…lots of fun LOs to be made Im hoping! So here is my Layout!

I am still to put photos on this Layout as currently at home sick with the flu and dont want to go out!

Here is the photos of Jolene and will be doing a pocket page next with all of her naughty antics!

So how did I do this?

I cut my 12×12 White Cardstock to 10 x10 inches and blended over using Pale Papaya, Pear Pizazz and Evening Evergreen. I stamped with Black stazon the images from the Artistically Inked Stamp set. Then I used the Plenty of Patterns Masks (155553) and Matte Embossing Paste for some texture. I still have a stash of Black 12×12 Cardstock (CS) but if you dont you could make the central panel A4 size.

My fave new embellishments are the Paper Latice (155697) and the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack (155465)

I inked up the lattice with Black stazon and cut it like shown. I adhered the small strips to the side of my White CS

I adhered this central panel to a 11 1/2 square of White CS and that was matted onto the 12 x12 Black CS. Tip…I only used one 12×12 Black CS and cut out the central part of it to use as the matting for the central panel. I do this with most of my Layouts to cut down on bulk and wastage.

Next I tore strips of the beautuful Expressions of Ink Specialty DSP (155464) and adhered them to some White CS and Diecut the Artistic Dies (155371) and Diecut this out. You could just diecut out of the DSP if you want to skip that step?

I cut a 3×6 Piece of the DSP and adhered all of the Ephemera pieces (including a tissue that comes in the ephemera pack), leftover lattice and wrapped around some gold Simply elegant trim (155766) as seen below. The diecut is adhered to the title area (which is up on dimensionals) and not adhered to the Black photo mats so I can slip my photos in later.

I stamped the hello onto a scrap of Linen Specialty DSP (155681) and blended with Pale Papaya.

I still have to journal as well but that will happen mainly on my pocket page when Ive done that!

So thats it…and off we go to the next Blog in our Blog Hop …Nina!

OH WOW, I can’t wait to try your idea with the lattice – this look soooo cool – I thought you had a spiral bound book somewhere there – you have so much texture and energy on your page – it’s all glorious. I love it.

I love all the ideas to add texture to a page. Stenciling the lattice was perfect. Tearing the paper and then die cutting turned out so fun!! Great Job.

Oh how fun! And I love Jolene! We have 5 cows-Loretta, Lucy Gray, Betty Sue, Clara Belle, and Roscoe. Now you’ve inspired me to create a page for them! Beautiful work!
